Easy Beauty Tips Every Woman Should Know

It is the beauty of the woman which makes the world a better place to live. Every girl wants to look beautiful and attractive and for this they try different things. There are endless beauty tips which can help you to look more attractive and beautiful.

So following is the list of some tips:

  • Bathe with lukewarm water and avoid too hot water. Hot showers can cause dryness in the skin. After the bath do not rub your skin with the hard towel, instead of it use soft and gentle towel to pat dry your skin.
  •  Use hydrating creams after every shower, it will moisturize the skin and will make your skin soft and supple. Use the lotions containing hydroxyl acid or salicylic acid.
  •  Wash your face twice in a day, once in the morning and once before going to bed.
  •  While going outside, use a sunscreen of SPF 25 or above. This will protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun.
  •  Always remove your makeup before going to bed. Make up contains harmful chemicals which can block the pores of the skin and can lead to the infections and pimples.
  •  You can also use purifying masks once in a week to keep the pores clear and skin fresh.
  •  Use darker makeup during the night and keep the subtle look during the day. You can also use mineral makeup; it can brighten the skin without the use of heavy foundation.
  •  Use a lip balm on your lips to avoid the chapping and drying of the lips. Plus use the lip colors which suit your skin.
  •  Always read the ingredients while purchasing the cosmetic products and avoid the harmful chemicals.
  •  Sleep on the satin or silk pillow as it creates fewer creases on your face and delay the onset of wrinkles. Plus avoid sleeping on your sides as this may lead to the wrinkles.
  •  Make a habit of drinking 2 glasses of water every morning on empty stomach. This will give you a shiny and healthy skin.
  •  In order to keep the eyeliner from running and smearing, opt for stay proof wearability formulas.
  •  Reapply the sunscreen after 2-3 hours; sunscreens which claim to provide all day protection are not reliable.
  •  Moisturize your hands atleast 3 times in a day. While washing and cleaning wear gloves to protect the hands from the harsh chemicals.
  •  Treat your nails with the olive oil every alternative day. You can also use a mixture of water and lemon juice to remove stains from the nails.
  •  Take a healthy and balanced diet because it helps to give you a healthy and beautiful skin. Take lots of fruits and vegetables along with essential fats and proteins.
  •  Exercise regularly. Regular exercise gives you a natural glow on your face and also keeps you in shape. Any kind of exercise is useful for the good health of the body, so select the one which you enjoy the most.

Had The Food Been The Only Medicine?

Food could have been the only medicine for primitives. Today domesticated animals too are given medicine. But the wild one’s may be taking different kind of food, when they feel unwell, to be their medicine. Can the food alone be sufficient to cure illness, or are the medicines compulsive?

Our experience, empirical evidence indicates that medicine is compulsively required at times for wellness.

Hippocrates considered to be the father of the modern or western medicine, is reported to have propounded that “Food is Medicine”; it was his belief that eating wholesome food is the basis for good health. He was quoted to have said- “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

His therapeutic approach was believed to have been based on "the healing power of nature". Again from our experience, it is seen at times that it is the body itself that ultimately or possibly cures itself in most critical cases over any other thing or intervention. This is what we can perceive it to be, when doctors are said to have told relatives of critical ill patients that they did their best and the rest is in god’s hands. That does not mean that doctors stop thinking of giving more suited medicine that they can further think of.

Even Hippocrates as a part of his practice was said to have used potent drugs on certain occasions. This quotation of his - “Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity”, might sum this up.  He is believed to have said-“Natural forces within us are the true healers of disease.” “The natural healing force within each of us is the greatest force in getting well.”
Let us give some more quotes of his to place things in a proper perspective or to conclude the issue.

Hippocrates is quoted to have said that- “Walking is man's best medicine.”  It is said that he often used lifestyle modifications such as diet and exercise to treat diseases such as diabetes, what is today called as lifestyle medicine. As said above, he did not leave things to life style. Let us sum up his philosophy or science of life by giving another quote of his-“Wherever the art of Medicine is loved, there is also a love of Humanity. ”

It was not that he was dilly- dallying or was uncertain or unscientific. It was his love for humanity that made him say all such things, and rightly as we see he is considered as the father of the modern medicine.

We may conclude that unless we take care of ourselves by taking right food do exercise nobody can cure us. And yes when needed unless we take right medicines in time again, nobody can help.

Doctor’s consultations cost and so are the medicines. Here again, the Hippocrates oath to the doctors and right formulations as decided by their training should help all and the humanity. Medicines need not be costly but prescribed in a right manner and should be generic.

“Walking is man's best medicine.” Ă  This quotation is attributed to Hippocrates, Father of Modern medicine.   It is said that he often used lifestyle modifications such as diet and exercise to treat diseases such as diabetes, what is today called as lifestyle medicine. That does not mean that he was against the medicines. In fact he indicated that medicines serve humanity.

“Food is Medicine” Ă  Father of Modern medicine Hippocrates, was supposed to have said- “Food is Medicine”. He is further quoted as -“The natural healing force within each of us is the greatest force in getting well.”  But that does not mean that he advocated against the medicines and they are to be used as needed in right earnest when needed.

Benefits of Yoga in Daily Life

Yoga, an eternal feeling of happiness, relaxation and energetic. These three words describe it completely. The word Yoga means "union" in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India where yoga originated. We can think of the union occurring between the mind, body and spirit. What is commonly referred to as "yoga" can be more accurately described by the Sanskrit word asana, which refers to the practice of physical postures or poses.Ă‚  Yoga Asana is only one of the eight "limbs" of yoga, the majority of which are more concerned with mental and spiritual well being than physical activity.

Why Should One Do Yoga?

Yoga is Very Important for Health. Some of The Beneficial Effects of Yoga are:

Better Breathing:

Most of us breathe very shallowly into the lungs and don't give much thought to how we breathe. Yoga breathing exercises, called Pranayama, emphasis the attention on the breath and teach us how to better use our lungs, which benefits the entire body. There are other types of breath which can also help to clear the nasal passages and even calm the central nervous system, which has both physical and mental benefits.

Mental Calmness:

Yoga asana practice is intensely physical. Concentrating so intently on what your body is doing has the effect of bringing a calmness to the mind. Yoga also introduces you to meditation techniques, such as watching how you breathe and disengagement from your thoughts, which help calm the mind.

Stress Reduction:

Physical activity is good for relieving stress, and this is particularly true of yoga. Because of the concentration required, your daily troubles, both large and small, seem to melt away during the time you are doing yoga. This provides a much-needed break from your stressors, as well as helping put things into perspective. The emphasis yoga places on being in the moment can also help relieve stress, as you learn not to dwell on past events or anticipate the future. You will leave a yoga class feeling less stressed than when you started.

Body Awareness:

Doing yoga will give you an increased awareness of your own body. You are often called upon to make small, subtle movements to improve your alignment. Over time, this will increase your level of comfort in your own body. This can lead to improved posture and greater self-confidence.

Once you start the daily practice you will ever remain arogya with yoga. Daily practice of Yoga will not only improve your physical health but will also add its benefit to the mental health. Therefore one must start the practice at earliest possible time to enjoy the fruitful outcome.

Precautions For Dengue Fever

Dengue is one of the dangerous diseases found in our country and it could be fatal if not treated properly under proper medical supervision. Dengue is a viral infectious disease transmitted by the bite of an infected female Aedes mosquito. It is a tropical disease and is found in tropical and sub tropical locations as the weather and other factors are favorable for the breeding of such viruses. This critical disease is caused by Dengue virus and due to its exhaustive effects on the patient’s body, many a times it is also referred as the Breakbone disease. This dengue virus and the related disease can affect any person from any age group but it is more dangerous for the ones with weak immune system, as this dengue virus first and the foremost attacks its prey’s immune system. Thus the fever caused by this virus is termed as the Dengue fever.

This disease was first ever discovered in the mid eighteenth century in Philippines. In the severe conditions the Dengue fever turns into Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, which is alarming as well as deadly. The disease cannot be detected without proper medical tests and medical consultations as the symptoms are not very unique and are more like any other viral infections. Some of the prominent symptoms of this disease are nausea, vomiting, rash, generalized pains, low white blood cell count, positive Tourniquet test, low platelets and metabolic acidosis, headache, lower backache, painful pain in the legs and joints, high body temperature, reddening of eyes etc.The Dengue virus not just effects the immune system of the infected person but also tries to wreck every other human system of the body so that patient could feel more weak and get vulnerable easily.

Although, till date there is no approved vaccination for this disease but there are various prevention methods which will surely help to reduce the outbreak of Dengue viruses. First and foremost is the eradication of the carriers of the virus that is the Aedes mosquitoes, and it could be done by destroying the breeding locations of such mosquitoes. It could be easily done by preventing water from stagnation in the open areas and other road side locations, emptying containers with suspected stagnant water or we could add insecticides and other biological chemicals and controlling agents to limit their growth and hence making the home and the surroundings free from mosquito breeds.

The public should be properly informed about this disease and the harms and dangers related to it. A clean society will not just keep you safe from such diseases but will also give a positive vibe for a happy and healthy life. During such illnesses you should take care of your eating habits. Better have foods which are easy on your digestive system that means foods which you could digest easily, intake of a lot of liquid products is necessary as it will help you to rejuvenate easily, for this you could have fresh fruit juices, soups and coconut water.

Like already said this disease has common symptoms like any other viral disease and hence it becomes more unpredictable and dangerous; so for a faster recovery you need to concentrate on some simple yet life saving steps. Take proper medication, give your weak body full rest, and have a balanced eating habit, and yeah, keep a positive attitude towards life.

Health Benefits of Cucumber

Health Benefits of Cucumber

The flesh of cucumbers is primarily composed of water but also contains ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and caffeic acid, both of which help soothe skin irritations and reduce swelling. Cucumbers’hard skin is rich in fiber and contains a variety of beneficial minerals including silica, potassium and magnesium.

A Radiant Complexion

The silica in cucumber is an essential component of healthy connective tissue, which includes intracellular cement, muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and bone. Cucumber juice is often recommended as a source of silicon to improve the complexion and health of the skin, plus cucumber’s high water content makes it naturally hydrating–a must for glowing skin. Cucumbers are also used topically for various types of skin problems, including swelling under the eyes and sunburn. Two compounds in cucumbers, ascorbic acid and caffeic acid, prevent water retention, which may explain why cucumbers applied topically are often helpful for swollen eyes, burns and dermatitis.

An Easy Way to Increase Your Consumption of Both Fiber and Water

Trying to get adequate dietary fiber on a daily basis is a challenge for many Americans. Adding a crunchy cool cucumber to your salads is an especially good way to increase your fiber intake because cucumber comes naturally prepackaged with the extra fluid you need when consuming more fiber. Plus, you get the added bonus of vitamin C, silica, potassium and magnesium.

High Blood Pressure? Cucumber Can Help You Cool Down

When people who participated in the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) Study added foods high in potassium, magnesium and fiber, their blood pressure dropped to healthier levels. Those people in the study who ate a diet rich in these compounds in addition to the other foods on this diet (low fat dairy foods, seafood, lean meat and poultry) lowered their blood pressure by 5.5 points (systolic) over 3.0 points (diastolic).

How To Whiten Your Teeth With Banana Peel

Teeth Whitening Toothpaste

  • Brush your teeth as usual with a natural toothpaste or you can use the banana peel first and then brush. Use a ripe banana as it has the most potassium content in it. Peel from the bottom end as this is how monkeys peel their bananas and it will keep you from having all those loose threads.
  • Take a piece of the inside of the banana peel and gently rub around on your teeth for about 2 minutes. The amazing minerals in the peel like potassium, magnesium and manganese absorb into your teeth and whiten them.
  • Repeat the same procedure at night or before bedtime, to whiten teeth. Leaving the banana peel on longer is optional if you have stains that need to come off.
  • Do the banana peel routine twice daily to see teeth whiten.

Health Benefits of Beans

The old children's rhyme was right: beans ARE good for your heart. So are lentils and other nutritious legumes, which are great sources of vegetarian protein and high-quality carbohydrates. (The other part of that rhyme was right, too!)
